Second Generation Self‐Assembling Dendrimer Combining Supramolecular and Dynamic Covalent Chemistry

A monodisperse second generation self-assembled dendrimer has been obtained combining supramolecular chemistry and dynamic covalent as orthogonal binding moieties. branching unit 18 a core 5 were connected via heteroleptic terpyridine zinc complex exploiting the sterical hindrance of mesitylene units in 6,6’’-position one terpyridines distinction between ligands. Solubility problems could be solved by introduction an ethylhexyl ether. The final sphere was imines, hydrazones oximes, whereby oxime made from O-methylhydroxylamine (22) led to complete turnover all aldehyde functions. Furthermore, no amine signal left also signals for diffusion constant hydroxylamine 22 observed. successful formation dendrimers analyzed 1H NMR DOSY spectroscopy. Furthermore both, first detected ESI HRMS.
